A frequently asked question: Is President Erdogan being misled?

ORC Research General Manager Mehmet POSTEKI has made an interesting evaluation over most recents comment of President Erdogan about polls conducted and published by several survey companies.

AKP President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s (also AK Party leader) comments on the results of the recent election polls at a press conference before the African tour has drawn attention.

Erdogan who said that he had no confidence in survey companies, made reference to June 24 elections in 2018, saying, “Let alone anyone who knew the results of last elections, no one has made a close prediction. We have seen this clearly in the presidential elections as well. They make up conclusions according to the expectations of the party they work for.”

After this statement of Erdogan, a statement came from the ORC which worked with the ruling party in the past. Mehmet POSTEKI, General Director of ORC Research Co., said on Twitter: “It was  announced on the A News (A Haber) live broadcast also attended by the Head of Communication Fahrettin Altun, that we had found results that were surprisingly accurate even for statistics science, in the 2018 elections. Thereafter, our success was talked about in dozens of publications. We are not saying in vain that Mr. President is being misinformed.”

ORC was one of the companies that predicted the results of the presidential and parliamentary elections of June 24 closest to actual reasults. Almost all polls had shown the CHP above 25 percent and the MHP below 10 percent. The ORC’s poll had said that Erdogan would be elected with 52.7 percent in the first round, the AKP would get 44.2 percent, the CHP would get 24.5 and the MHP would get 10.5 votes.
