New Regulation in MHRS by the Ministry of Health

Starting July 25, those who wish to make an appointment with a specialist will first encounter a “family physician referral screen.”

With this system, health issues that can be resolved at the primary care level will be handled by family physicians. If needed, the family physician will then create the specialist appointment.

CITIZENS WILL NOW BE REFERRED TO FAMILY PHYSICIANS FIRST

To improve access to healthcare and optimize resource usage, the Ministry has introduced a significant update to the MHRS system.

With the implementation that began on July 25, 2025, citizens seeking appointments will first be directed to family physicians through a new “referral screen” in MHRS.

According to the new regulation, this screen will appear during the appointment process, and citizens will be referred to their family physician based on their selections.

FAMILY PHYSICIAN EXAMINATION WILL BE MANDATORY BEFORE SPECIALIST APPOINTMENT

According to a report by Mynet, the main goal of the practice is to increase the efficiency of primary healthcare services. Citizens directed to their family physicians will first be examined and assessed by them.

If the examination results indicate the need for specialist evaluation, family physicians will be able to directly book an appointment with a specialist on behalf of the patient through the MHRS using a reserved quota.
