Adverse weather hits fish stalls: Mackerel and anchovies prices skyrocket to £60

Boats were not able to due to snowfall and wind and fish prices skyrocketed on the stalls.

After the poyraz (north-east wind) prevented fishing in the Sea of Marmara, there was an increase in the prices of anchovies, mackerel and perch and chupra.

Price of Mackarel which was sold at 30-40 liras at stalls previously went up to  60 TL per kg.

The kilogram price of anchovies also increased by an average of close to 20 TL, reaching 60 TL.

Perch and chupra, which were previously sold for 80-90 TL, are sold for 100 TL.
