AKOM and Meteorology Department Warn: Cold Air Wave Coming from the Balkans

Citizens traveling for the Ramadan Bayram holiday will face a surprise weather change on their way back. According to meteorological data, a cold air wave from the Balkans will enter Turkey between April 5-8.

The General Directorate of Meteorology (MGM) has issued an updated weather forecast for the next 5 days. For Saturday, March 29, a yellow warning has been issued for 10 provinces.

COLD AIR WAVE COMING FROM THE BALKANS

Weather temperatures across the country will remain within seasonal norms. However, cold and rainy weather will continue throughout the Ramadan Bayram holiday. During the return trip from the holiday, citizens will face a cold air wave coming from the Balkans.

According to the latest evaluations from the Meteorology Department, the country will experience a partly cloudy and mostly overcast sky. Rain and thunderstorms are expected in Marmara, Aegean, Mediterranean (except Mersin), the northeastern part of Central Anatolia, inland areas of the Black Sea, and parts of Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia, as well as in the Ankara, Eskişehir, Düzce, and Zonguldak regions.

The cold and rainy weather is expected to persist from April 5-8. No significant changes are anticipated in the weather forecast. Throughout the holiday period, rainy weather will dominate, with temperatures staying close to seasonal norms.

WEEKLY RAINY WEATHER EXPECTED

According to the weather forecast prepared by AKOM, rainy weather will continue to affect Istanbul throughout the week.

In Istanbul and surrounding areas, as well as across the Marmara region, rain will persist. AKOM has warned citizens about potential negative conditions caused by the ongoing rain.
