Amazing Valla Canyon in Kastamonu, second deepest in the world

VALLA Canyon has a splendid view which DEVREKANI streamlet has formed in the KURE Mountains.

It starts near MURATBASI village 26 km North of PINARBASI where Devrekani stream and KANLICAY meet. The canyon which stretches for about 10 km towards CIDE in the North has rocky cliffs between 800-1200 m high. Birds as eagles, hawks, vultures are found on these cliffs.

The interior of the canyon cannot be crossed unless with professional groups and without proper equipment. However, short visits can be made with local guides at the entrance and exit. The canyon is said to be the second deepest in the world. (11 October 2020 / 24 Nov 2022))
