Attention Cardholders! Password Change at ATMs Now Mandatory Every 6 Months

The “password renewal every 6 months” practice we’re used to seeing in mobile banking apps is now being implemented at physical ATMs as well.

Banks are taking a new step in the fight against digital fraud. Users who haven’t changed their PIN in the past 6 months will be required to set a new one before they can proceed with any transaction after inserting their card into the ATM.

To enhance security, users will not be allowed to reuse any of their last three PINs. According to a report by Türkiye Gazetesi, this rule aims to reduce the use of easily guessed or frequently repeated PINs.
