AYDIN town in Turkey broke its own record with 3 million 200 thousand tourists

3 million 200 thousand domestic and foreign tourists were hosted in Aydın, in 2022. It was stated that the visitor record had been broken in Aydın where 2 million tourists came the previous year. Provincial Culture and Tourism Director Umut Tuncer said that economic added value of more than $ 2.5 Billion had been achieved with the record number of tourists.

THE TOWN BROKE ITS OWN RECORD WITH 3 MILLION 200 THOUSAND TOURISTS

Aydın’s 2022 tourism season was evaluated with a press conference held at the hotel in Kuşadası. Provincial Culture and Tourism Director Umut Tuncer and professionals in the sector attended the meeting. At the meeting, it was stated that Aydın broke his own record by hosting 3 million 200 thousand domestic and foreign tourists in 2022.

It was announced that 1 million 200 thousand more tourists came to Aydın, which has a population of 1 million 145 thousand, compared to 2021. It was noted that the hotels were full in Aydın, and number of tourists  was 3 times the population. It was emphasized that the contribution of 3 million 200 thousand tourists to the economy was over 2.5 billion dollars.

‘WE HAVE REACHED A NUMBER OF TOURISTS HIGHER THAN EXPECTED’

Provincial Culture and Tourism Director Umut Tuncer said, “Turkey is a champions league player in tourism. Especially with the advantage that our minister is a tourism expert and has a high experience, we have put forward an exemplary model for world tourism with the safe tourism certification process during the pandemic period. What happened after the pandemic period, we managed to put forward a magnificent performance above what we expected, especially in our Aydın region.”
