Bill Gates says world would recover from the effects of the Covid-19 by end of 2022
Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates said the world would be fully recovered from the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic by the end of 2022. “By the end of 2022, we should be completely back to normal,” Gates said, answering questions forwarded by journalists underlining that corona virus vaccines would help end the “incredible tragedy” caused by the pandemic.
Gates had said in 2015 that the deaths of millions on earth could be caused by “a virus that would spread rapidly, rather than a war.” According to data available to date, 125 million people globally have been infected with the corona virus due to Covid-19 and about 1.2 million people have died.
Gates who left the chairmanship of Microsoft Corp in 2014, has committed at least $ 1.75 billion to support the fight against the Covid-19 outbreak at a global level through the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. This resource includes supporting some vaccine manufacturers, diagnoses and potential treatments.
Supported by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Global Association for vaccines and Immunization (GAVI) and prepared to ensure poor countries have access to the vaccine, COVAX aims to provide 2 billion doses of the vaccine for low-income countries by the end of 2021.
