BIST 100 Index breaks all-time record once again while dolar fluctuates

Istanbul Stock Exchange which started the week energetic and completed the day with a value gain of close to 2 percent yesterday, rose 608 points (0.52 percent) and opened at 117,844 today. The BIST 100 index managed to climb over 118,000 levels in the first half of the day.

The BİST 100 index, which peaked in the second half of the day with increased purchases, carried its all-time record to 118,955.8 points. The index had broken its previous record on January 3, 2018 with 118,395 points.

In the meantime, mobility in exchange rates have increased and the market has been observing ups and downs in US dollar which started the day at 3.77 levels went up to 3.80. Then, the rate went 3.78  at the minute of BIST 100 broke all-time record. At that moment euro was traded at 4.64 TL and euro/dollar rate was at 1.2267.

Obviously, markets are focused on news from the Afrin operation. According to analysts, the operation makes it difficult for domestic markets to find direction. Especially the exchange rates seem to be quite unstable.
