BOT tender for Istanbul’s third airport to be finalized today
It is reported that the tender for the build-operate-transfer project, will be carried out in four stages, and on a 25-year lease basis.
As informed by news sources the tender authority expects to receive 4 different bids for the tender.
It is also reported that the tender specification document has been bought by 17 companies (fifteen Turkish and two foreign) whereas only 4 groups have decided to participate and prepare bids.
The groups participating in the tender that is being held in Ankara are as follows;
TAV, IC-Fraport Consortium, Cengiz-Kolin-Limak-Mapa-Kalyon Consortium and Makyol İnşaat
Turkish Transport Minister Yıldırım is reported to have valued the tender at over than 7 billion euros ($9 billion).
It was announced earlier that the tender would be carried out in four stages on a 25-year lease basis, with the cooperation of the private and public sectors. It is also known that Turkey will guarantee the amount of passengers and tariff levels for a certain amount of time.
As for schedule, the first phase of construction is planned be completed in 2017. This initial capacity will be 90 million passengers a year.
In the second phase the capacity is expected to go up to 150 million passengers.
