Breaking News… Moments of Fear at Antalya Airport: Plane Catches Fire During Landing

In breaking news, a passenger plane landing at Antalya Airport caught fire due to engine malfunction amid adverse weather conditions. The fire caused significant panic, but all 79 passengers were quickly evacuated, and the flames were extinguished by emergency teams.

The incident occurred as a Russian airline’s Sukhoi Superjet 100 operated by Azimut Airlines landed in stormy conditions. The Turkish Meteorological Service had issued an orange weather warning due to the ongoing storm.

Emergency teams swiftly responded to the fire, ensuring the safe evacuation of all passengers. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The affected aircraft was later moved to a parking position.

During the incident, several other flights waiting to land had to circle in the air. Once the situation was resolved, normal air traffic resumed at the airport.

Antalya Airport Civil Authority Governor Suat Seyitoğlu confirmed the fire broke out during landing and was promptly extinguished. He reassured, saying, “All passengers were evacuated without injury. Thankfully, no one was harmed. The situation is under control now.”
