Camel Riding Activities Banned in Alanya

The camel riding activities in Alanya have been terminated after camel owners, who failed to comply with regulations despite being given a one-year grace period by Alanya Mayor Osman Tarık Özçelik, were found to be harming tourism and mistreating animals.
The camel riding activity, which has already been banned in many tourism areas across Turkey, has now been brought to an end in Alanya as well.
Mayor Özçelik had previously allocated specific locations for camel owners and allowed them to operate during the tourism season under certain rules.

However, recent inspections and complaints revealed that the camel owners were not following the regulations. They were found operating outside the designated areas, mistreating tourists, overcharging, and failing to meet the required standards for the care and conditions of the animals.
As a result, a decision made during the Municipal Council Meeting officially ended their operations in the area.
