CHP.. A Hope for Turkey?

The expression “New CHP” has been one of the most frequently heard slogans since KILICDAROGLU, the new leader took over the the chair and the party held its General Congress a short while ago.

The question is if this – so said restructuring – has contributed to or changed the position of the party. One thing is for sure; The change has marked a deep transformation of the CHP in response  to the changing requirements of Turkey’s policy, society and economy.

The new CHP is determined to spend a much stronger effort to strengthen its connection with the people of Turkey. CHP has refreshed its social vision and ideals on the way to establishing a just and prosperous society.

While doing this CHP is expected to get the energy, strength from “continuity and change”.

The CHP is seen to emphasize continuity with the founding principles and values of the Republic.
CHP  stands for democracy, secularism, social state, rule of law, human rights and freedoms.

CHP also supports change. There has been a considerable rise in spread of poverty and corruption in the country.

Many a citizens are well aware there is so much to be restored, repaired in the country.  On the other hand CHP declares that the human being is the most important element for them and therefore maintains that Turkey should be a country where all citizens regardles of their faith, ethnicity and other differences – including gender certainly – are and should truly be equal before the law. They should without any compromise enjoy equal opportunities offered by this country.

CHP maintains that they seek Turkey’s golden age in the future and not in the past – Ottoman era.

CHP’s statement is that as a true and strong follower of Atatürk’s tenets, the ideals of social democracy and the valuse of universal civilization, they target to turn the people of Turkey into a creative, democratic and progressive society.
