Citizens will be able to report unfair price increases via mobile app

The Ministry of Trade has updated the mobile application that allows citizens to report unfair price increases through their smartphones, as part of efforts to prevent excessive price hikes. The new update enables users to upload up to five photos, add location information, and provides a larger space for descriptions.
In a statement, the Ministry of Trade announced that new modules had been added to the “Unfair Price Increase Reporting Mobile Application,” which was developed to prevent consumer grievances. The update highlights that the goal was to allow citizens to report unfair price increases promptly and effectively, enabling quick actions to be taken.
With the widespread use of the HFA Mobile Application, the aim is to prevent businesses from exploiting consumers through unjust price hikes. The statement emphasized that the user-friendly interface of the app made it easy for citizens to report negative experiences. The collected data will be carefully recorded and forwarded to the relevant authorities. Each reported issue will be thoroughly investigated, and if necessary, coordinated actions will be taken with other institutions to address the concerns of citizens.
The statement further emphasized that the HFA Mobile Application was an important step in protecting consumer rights and ensuring fair market competition. “Thanks to the notifications citizens make through the application, not only will unfair price increases be detected and prevented, but healthier pricing policies will also be adopted across sectors,” the Ministry stated.
The Unfair Price Reporting Mobile Application can be accessed via the Apple Store and Google Play, and users log in through their e-Government accounts. The updated app now allows the addition of five photos and location reporting when making a report.
