Clear statement from Biden : We will defend Taiwan if China attacks

US President Joe Biden has said that the US armed forces will defend Taiwan if China launches an invasion. Biden also said “Yes” to the question asked to clarify his answer.

It is believed that Biden’s clearest statement to date about the response of the United States in the event of an invasion of Taiwan, will attract Beijing’s reaction.

Biden, who participated in CBS’s 60 Minutes broadcast, responded to a question about whether US forces would defend Taiwan in the event of an invasion, “Yes, US will defend it in the event of an attack.”

Biden also answered the question posed to clarify the answer and whether US troops would defend Taiwan if China invaded the island nation, unlike the situation in Ukraine, by saying “Yes”.

Taiwan’s Foreign Ministry expressed its thanks to Biden ’for reaffirming the commitment of the U.S. government to Taiwan’s security’.
