DAIMLER_CHAIRMANReferring to Turkey as the ‘Eurasian Tigers’ Daimler’s Chairman of the Executive Board Dieter Zetsche states, “We must take in a ‘tiger state’ such as Turkey which is standing at our door.”

Dieter Zetsche, the Chairman of the Executive Board of automotive giants Daimler, the producers of a number of well-known brands including Mercedes and Maybach, defended Turkey’s EU membership, by stating that he does not understand why obstacles were constantly being placed in front of a strengthened Turkey in economic terms.

Istanbul born Zetsche states in an article published in, ‘Bild am Sonntag’ that he doesn’t understand why Turkey is not being regularly accepted into the EU. “Turkey has everything we appreciate from Asia or Latin America. They have a young population which is ready to learn and to work. We have companies in Turkey that could be put up as worldwide examples.

WE SHOULD OPEN THE DOORS ALL THE WAY

Noting that Europe, “which may have become slightly spoiled” has extensive growth potential with Turkey, Zetsche states, “Instead of putting up further obstacles until the day comes when Turkey turns its back on us. We need to open the doors all the way for Turkey.

“Zetsche also mentioned that growth in Europe is being experienced more frequently in countries excluding Germany and stated that the job possibilities that could be created would also benefit Germany. Germany is forced to be a migrant country.

ZETSCHE also went on to state that in order to find qualified employees, German countries have had to implement an active migrant policy. “It is for this reason that I find it quite irresponsible to ignite hostility towards foreigners in terms of both economy and humanity. We are forced to be a migrant country.

“Zetsche also criticized the German government’s decision to pull out of all nuclear energy by the year 2022 as being a hasty move.
