Demand booms for hotels in Turkey’s resort areas despite increase in covid-19 cases

The sudden increase in Kovid-19 cases in Turkey has not prevented Russian tourists from receiving tour packages, tour operators said. A tour agency noted that despite the increase in cases of the new type of coronavirus (Kovid-19) in Turkey, a steady increase in tour demand continues.

“There are no mass cancellations” a spokeswoman for the company, told reporters. The number of charter flights in April is increasing, because the summer season in Antalya begins in May” same person said.

The spokeswoman said that the Turkish authorities were following the situation strictly, but the restrictions are more of a concern for local people, being reflected at the minimum level to tourists.

Meanwhile, director of  another travel agency reported the first wave of cancellations last week. He noted that this was related to tours in Istanbul and Cappadocia and added “in these two places, indeed, restrictions disrupted those who planned 3-4 days.

“The postponement process has begun. As for hotels in resorts where restrictions have not affected in any way because they have their own independent infrastructure, we are seeing a boom in demand here” he said. The same person also noted that the increase in Kovid-19 cases in Turkey had not yet worried Russians.

Cancellations to Turkey are not observed

On the other hand some other agencies also report that there are no cancellations on reservations to Turkey.
