Deputy PM Babacan: We target to turn Istanbul Stock Exchange into a corporation

babacanTurkish Deputy Prime Minister Ali Babacan said that they targeted to turn Istanbul Stock Exchange (ISE) into a corporation in the coming period.

We want to make ISE a company, which is open to public, and thus to integrate it with the world more, added Babacan who visited ISE on Thursday.

Babacan noted that they wanted to complete all required legal procedures before Turkish Parliament entered summer recess.

When asked about the privatization and public offering of ISE, Babacan said that public offering was another decision which would be made according to the market conditions. He added that ISE was the most important institution of capital markets.

Babacan said that they also targeted to make Istanbul city one of the most important finance centers of Turkey, the region and the world, adding that capital market was one of the most important legs of this target.
