Dirty Tapes Successful to Make MHP Deputies Resign.. What About Ethics and Humanly Values?

OPINIONMillions of Turkish citizens regret nowadays, that the level of politics in Turkey has gone rock-bottom recently, following a series of blackmailing on some politicians and MHP deputies in specific.

To be most recent, resignations of some MHP politicians were triggered by broadcasting secretly filmed videos on a website, which showed senior members of the party in romantic trysts and making politically compromising statements – The website had threatened to broadcast further compromising video recordings if party leader Devlet Bahçeli did not resign by a deadline of May 18. He has not resigned (as off May 21st 2011).

The political balances in the country are known to be very critical as the question is “if the ruling party (AKP) is going to be able to get total control in the parliament by getting a majority vote in 2011 deputy elections”. The reason is if this claps, AKP is going to have the power to amend the constitution against the will and rejection of other parties in the parliament which is considered a risky situation by many people, in several respects.

First of all there is quite a crowded group of voters (CHP and MHP supporters) concerned about major changes expected to be made by AKP in regards to the main articles of the constitution which they consider to be protecting the sovereignty and unity of the Republic of Turkey.

Secondly, supporters of CHP and MHP in specific are concerned about most recent pro-Kurdish movements in the country – mostly in south eastern Turkey – and to what extent the government would have to compromise with the separatist Kurdish front to fulfill their requirements – to avoid any further conflicts in the region (and the country) and comfort them (even if temporarily).

The relation is if MHP is punished by the voters due to referred scandals circulated by blackmail videos on concerned site, the MHP would possibly stand the risk of not being able to exceed the 10 percent threshold needed to retain their place in parliament, in which case their votes would be shared between AKP (majority) and CHP. This would increase the 45% votes expected to be secured by AKP thus resulting in a majority of said party in the parliament.

When one considers above action-result situation the outcome is that some unknown, illegal and evil group of plotters are trying to knock MHP out of the parliament, to apparently ensure some dirty mega plans against Turkey can be put into practice, following the elections.

Thus the question is if the MHP voters would respond exactly in the opposite direction to what is expected from them by the plotters, by further holding their support for MHP to bring them into the parliament. In fact, Turks are quite different in that they might even let their feelings orient them and spare additional votes for MHP to support the aggrieved party.
