Turkey’s economy minister said on Monday that Turkey could easily reach 150 billion USD of year-end exports in 2012.

Zafer Caglayan said exporters had a high expectation to export their products to European markets.

“Turkey can easily earn 150 billion USD from its exports by the end of 2012,” Caglayan said in a written statement.

Caglayan’s remarks came after the results of the foreign trade expectation survey for the second quarter of 2012 was made public.

The survey raised export expectation in the second quarter by 17.1 points to 115 points when compared with the first quarter.

“Our exporters’ expectations, particularly the rise in their expectations to export more to Europe, indicate that European markets have started to recover and effects of the economic crisis in Europe have started to diminish,” Caglayan said.
