Recep Tayyip Erdogan has won in the presidential elections held in Turkey today with 52 percent of vote share (an advantage of approximately 4 percent) against opposition candidate KILICDAROĞLU who received about 48 percent of votes.

Accordingly, Erdogan has obtained the authority to govern Turkey for another 5 years.

However, the reality is a very difficult period is waiting for Erdogan as Turkey is in a bad economic situation like never before. One of the major problems is big foreign debts and budget deficit which together are the main reasons for TL to lose value and inflation to sky rocket.

Apparently, the President will have to cope with it all besides some other political and social issues and it is major question how he will manage to get Turkey out of this hole, in the coming period.

Let’s hope the new administration succeeds this time to turn this country into a place worth living.
