Scientists at the University of Edinburgh have tested 7 different materials covering the face, including a surgical mask, respirator, lightweight and durable face visor and homemade mask.

Scientists used computer technology to measure the distance and direction the particles that traveled when the person breathes or coughs during the tests.

Tests showed that masks with no exit valves reduced the spread of the virus by up to 90 percent.

At this point, all veils to include homemade masks and scarves, were seen to be effective in preventing the spread of Kovid-19.

On the other hand, tests found that dangerous particles could escape into the air when the covers were not properly placed on the face and were not suitable for medical use.

A doctor from the study team said he was surprised to see that all the covers they tested were effective. (SZC)
