Fethiye: German and British residents receive “Olive Tree Pruning” training

In the village of Yeşilüzümlü, affiliated with Fethiye district of Muğla, women farmers as well as Germans and British settlers in the region learned olive tree pruning.

Training provided by the Fethiye District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry for producers continues unabated. In this context, olive pruning training was also conducted in Yeşilüzümlü Village. The most notable participants in the training were Germans and British, settled in the region.

In a first for training provided to women farmers, German and British citizens were included in the training with the assistance of interpreters. The training, conducted by Agricultural Engineer Nevzat Ekiz, focused on the correct pruning and maintenance of olive trees. Participants were also extensively briefed on what they needed to pay attention to for the healthy growth and productivity of olive trees.

Furthermore, olive tree pruning techniques and timing were addressed during the training, emphasizing that participants acquired the necessary knowledge and skills to maintain their olive trees effectively and yield productive results. During the training, Engineer Ekiz demonstrated pruning techniques directly on the trees.
