Finance Minister Mehmet SIMSEK: Return to rational policies will continue gradually

Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek stressed that the return to rational policies would continue gradually. Simsek made a share about the extension of withholding support at Exchange Rate Protected Deposits (KKM), on his social media account.

“According to the analytical balance sheet data of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT), net international reserves recorded the largest weekly increase in history with $ 8.5 billion last week,” Simsek said in his share. The return to rational policies will continue gradually.”

Noting that they were accelerating efforts to provide additional outsourcing to Turkey in order to further strengthen the reserves, Simsek said, “In addition, we will continue to make TL-type instruments attractive. Within this framework, we are extending the withholding support at Exchange Rate Protected Deposits until the end of the year.”
