George Bush & Tony Blair; Responsible for deaths of millions in Iraq?

"Share this post on social media, spread the news"

The Iraqi war is known to have been started by an invasion of Iraq by the United States and the United Kingdom from March 20, 2003 to December 18, 2011.

Although the war is supposed to have been over long time ago, sectarian violence has been continuing and has caused thousands of lives after the occupant forces withdrew from the region.

Prior to the war, the governments of the United States headed by George Bush and the United Kingdom headed by Tony Blair claimed that Iraq’s alleged possession of mass destruction weapons (WMD) posed a threat to the security of concerned states, their regional allies as well as the whole world…

The head of the American government also claimed the USA was the warrior of freedom and liberty etc. and they would bring democracy into Iraq by getting rid of Saddam.. (his wish to bring democracy caused millions of lives and nobody with a bit of logic and conscience can say democracy is prevailing in Iraq right now.. As for splitting of the country into pieces and sectorian fight the operation has been truly successful)

In 2002, the United Nations Security Council passed Resolution 1441 which called for Iraq to completely cooperate with UN weapon inspectors to verify that Iraq did not possess WMD and cruise missiles. Prior to the attack, the United Nations Monitoring, Verification and Inspection Commission (UNMOVIC) found no evidence of WMD

Important note:  After investigation following the invasion, the U.S.-led Iraq Survey Group concluded that Iraq had ended its nuclear, chemical and biological programs in 1991 and had no active programs at the time of the invasion, but that they intended to resume production if the Iraq sanctions were lifted. Although some degraded remnants of misplaced or abandoned chemical weapons from before 1991 were found, they were not the weapons which had been the one of the main arguments for the invasion. Moreover, some US officials also accused Iraqi President Saddam Hussein of harboring and supporting al-Qaeda but no evidence of a meaningful connection was ever found.

The war brought about a financial cost of more than US$ 9 billion to the UK and over US$ 845 billion to the U.S. government. Some experts have claimed the total cost to the U.S. economy was as high as $3 trillion.

HUMAN LOSSES

As for human aspect of the war, The IBC maintained that the occupying authority had a responsibility to prevent concerned human deaths under international law. The reports however showed a range of 108,430 to 118,484 civilian deaths as of July, 2012. This total represents civilian deaths due to war-related violence that have been reported by media organizations, non-governmental-organization-based reports, and official records

In March, 2012, the Baghdad Provincial Council estimated, “the overall number of orphans across Iraq to be no more than 400,000,” while a UN report from 2008 estimated the number to be around 870,000.

Estimates of the total number of Iraqi war-related deaths have been highly disputed. National Public Radio has a bar chart with various estimates. Project Censored has named the “corporate media blackout” of the number of Iraqi deaths caused by U.S. occupation (which it estimates at over one million) as the number-one censored story for 2009. In December 2007, the Iraqi government reported that there were five million orphans in Iraq — almost half of the country’s children.

Today,  when we look back at what the world and Iraq (in specific) have gone through, we can easily see a catastrophe presented to the world as “Operation of Bringing Democracy into Iraq” by the USA and UK –  in the presence of a paralyzed United Nations and other leading countries such as China etc..

The operation pioneered by these two countries (headed by George Bush and Tony Blair) have caused the lives of millions of innocent people only because the global benefits of the superpowers required to do so.

Now many years after the beginning of the invasion, more and more people are aware that the whole thing was part of a big operation called GREAT MIDDLE EAST PROJECT whereby the target is to control and get rid of any resistance to pose a threat to maintaining control of energy resources (oil that is) in the region and eliminate any likely disturbance the state of ISRAEL (the genuine brother).

Reports and figures are said to confirm that millions of people have lost their lives for this “brutal” cause and trillions of dollars have been spent to kill people.

We are not to forget either that this inhuman operation has been a “LIFE SAVER” for the American arms industry and many big suppliers have managed to survive a possible bankruptcy.

Now with all this data (confirmed by unbiased, global sources), the question is “Would it be fair to say that British ex-leader Tony Blair and former US president George W Bush should face trial in The Hague for their role in this human tragedy for following reasons?”

  • These leaders are now both accused of lying about weapons of mass destruction – which is supposed to have been the main excuse for the operation.
  • The invasion has left the world more destabilised and divided “than any other conflict in history” and many believe  the death figures during and after said conflict are sufficient for Blair and Bush to face trial.

On these grounds, it is upto you to decide whether “those responsible for this suffering and loss of life should be made to answer for their actions in The Hague” – in a consistent and fair world that is…
