German business giant Siemens opens new “Low Voltage Switchgear Plant” in Gebze

German giant Siemens has opened a new “Low Voltage Switchgear Plant” in Gebze (Istanbul) within its integrated production facilities, which is an investment worth Euros 65 million. The plant was opened with a ceremony attended by Turkey’s Minister of Technology, Kocaeli Governor Huseyin Aksoy, Gebze Mayor Adnan Köşker, Siemens AG board member Klaus Helmrich and Siemens Turkey Chairman and CEO Hüseyin Gelis.

The total investment amount of integrated production facilities of SIEMENS AG built on 150 thousand square meters at GOSB within the scope of development strategy of Turkey has reached Euros 65 million together with the new plant realized as part of Phase 2. It is forecasted that the facilities are will provide a contribution of about Euros 100 million to Turkey’s economy, annually.

The new Low Voltage Switchgear Plant, which will provide employment for 1,000 people directly and indirectly, will produce contactors and accessories, overcurrent relays, auto fuses, automatic switchgear accessories and other accessories.
