Government decision to grant Somalia US$ 30 million published in the Official Gazette

According to the presidential decree published in the Official Gazette, Turkey has made a decision to grant $ 30 million to Somalia in one year. It was also stated that Somalia would receive $ 2.5 million in monthly aid, and the total aid would not exceed $ 30 million.
By Presidential Decree, $ 30 million in annual aid was announced to Somalia.
The decision, published in the Official Gazette, included the following statements:
- In accordance with domestic law and annual budget appropriations, the donor will provide the recipient with a grant-qualified financial contribution that does not exceed US $ 30,000,000, including us $ 2,500,000 per month.
- The recipient will use the grant for the purposes of budget financing and institutional capacity building.
- The grant will be audited in accordance with the financial rules, administrative regulations and practices of the recipient.
After this decision was announced and published, opposition reminded that the amount of financial resources needed to put the fire-fighter planes resting inactive on the ground
back into operation was only about US$ 4 million in which case Turkey might not have to suffer from such disastrous situations prevailing for over a week now, at least to this extent.
