Greece opens borders to 35 countries not including Turkey on the list

GREECE OPENS DOORS TO 35 COUNTRIES

Greece is a member of the European Union (EU) and has decided to open its borders and not to practice quarantine for tourists from countries in the Schengen Area and from five countries outside the EU. Turkey has not found a place on the list.

Greek media published news that said the country had decided to open its borders with 35 countries starting on May 1, 2021, and release them from quarantine, in a bid to revive the country’s tourism sector.

Said countries are as follows: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Italy, Iceland, Hungary, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, and Slovenia, Iceland, Norway, Switzerland and Liechtenstein.

In addition to these countries, Greece has also granted a seven-day quarantine exemption for citizens of the United States, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, Serbia and Israel.

THEY WILL NOT BE QUARANTINED

Citizens of these 35 countries will be able to enter Greece with vaccination cards or a CPR negative test result and will not be quarantined. According to the Greek government’s decision, the rights granted to citizens of 35 countries were not granted to Turkish citizens, according to SÖZCU newspaper. Turkish citizens, will not be able to enter Greece if they get vaccinated or take a negative CPR test result with them.

The resumption of flights between Istanbul and Athens was approved. But only citizens of Greece or those who have a residence permit in Greece are accepted, except in emergencies from Turkey to Greece. On the other hand, a seven-day quarantine is continuing for these people.
