Answering the question about when we would get out of the Covid-19 pandemic, Koca said that the epidemic had not yet disappeared, but it had lost its effect. Noting that Turkey had gained very important experience in the fight against the disease compared to two years ago, Koca said, “Both vaccination rates and the success achieved in treatment have been effective in reducing the effect of the disease.”

Expressing that there had been an increase in the number of cases in certain periods due to the fluctuating course of the disease, Minister Koca said, “The number of cases in Europe has started to increase again. The reflection of this situation on us usually happens after 3-4 weeks. We may also have increases in the number of cases. As I said, we have learned to live with Covid now. An important measure of ours is vaccinations. It is extremely important for all our citizens of advanced age to have reminder doses of vaccines. Covid-19 should no longer be an element of fear. It is important that we do not neglect reminder doses in risky groups.”

As for whether there is a decrease in the number of vaccinations, Koca reported that they had reached very high rates in primary vaccination. Noting that the citizens had shown great sensitivity on this issue and eliminated the devastating effect of the epidemic, Koca continued as follows:

“There is also no problem with reminder dose vaccines. Our elderly citizens have always received their vaccinations by taking into account our warnings. People in at-risk groups are also getting reminder doses. Let me make one more call from here. Risk groups and elderly citizens should not neglect reminder doses. Let’s do our preparations before December, let’s complete the vaccinations of our elders as soon as possible. I have given the TURKOVAC vaccine to my whole family, including myself. We follow the vaccine effects and side effects centrally. No specific cases have been identified that would require precautions for vaccine side effects.”
