Smartphones
An iPhone, which is sold for 82,999 TRY (about 2,275 USD) in Turkey, is sold for 999 USD in the USA.
Cars
A Mercedes C200 model, which costs 3,922,500 TRY (or 99,068 EUR) in Turkey, is priced at 57,050 EUR in Germany.
Coats
The same brand and model coat costs 17,999.9 TRY (493 USD) in Turkey, while its price in the USA is 84 USD on sale or 140 USD without discount.
White Goods
A local brand refrigerator, which costs 929 GBP (43,827 TRY) in the UK, is not available in Turkey. However, similar models in Turkey are priced at 55,769 TRY at the lowest.
Food Prices Also Have a Large Difference
Canned tuna sold in the UK is priced at 2.59 GBP (122 TRY) for a four-pack, while in Turkey, different brands of canned tuna range between 230-280 TRY in various stores.
Banana Prices
In the USA, 454 grams of bananas are sold for 0.33 USD, which is about 26.5 TRY per kilogram. In Turkey, however, the lowest price for bananas is 79.75 TRY.
Fish Prices
A kilogram of red mullet fish in Turkey costs 1,399.95 TRY, while in Germany, it is sold for 23.80 EUR, which is about 942 TRY.
Meat Prices
The price of sirloin steak in Turkey is 819.90 TRY per kilogram, whereas in the USA, it is priced at 12.99 USD, or about 473.8 TRY.
This situation highlights the significant price differences for many products in Turkey compared to other countries.
