"Share this post on social media, spread the news"

turkey_internetTurkish people who did not have a proper intercity telephone connection facility until a few decades ago are now among the most frequent users of all kinds of technologies at our times, to include internet in the first place.

It is indeed recorded that the Turkish market is among the fastest developing ones as far as mobile telephone, computer and internet markets are concerned. This is likely due to the fact Turkey is still a developing country and people have a hunger for comfort – and technology thereoff, certainly. Turks love to spend money (even when they do not have it) for technology to show off. This could probably have to do with “I am Better Than You Are” basic instinct (like with many other people all around the world surely).

According to market researches conducted in Turkey by several companies, 35 percent of homes in Turkey have internet connection.

72.4 percent of users make use of the the net to send and receive e-mails whereas 70 percent use it to read newspapers and magazines.

The highest usage rates were recorded among the 16-24 age group and university graduates ranked among the leading group as far as internet usage rates were concerned.

On the other hand, it is expected that Turkey will have an internet usage rate of 35-45 percent by 2015 which means half of the 80 million population.

USAGE ACCORDING TO AGE GROUPS

Among individuals between ages 16-74, internet usage rates are 50,5-48,6 percent for men and 30-28 percent for women.

During the January-March period, 59,3 percent of internet users in his group used the internet every day.

During the same period access to internet was made from homes by 57,6, working places by 32,4 percent and internet cafes by 24,1 percent.

The highest usage rates were recorded among the 16-24 age group.

University graduates ranked among the leading group as far as internet usage rates were concerned.

It is expected that Turkey will have an internet usage rate of 35-45 percent by 2015 which means half of the 80 million population.
