Citizens are concerned about pita (bread) prices as the month of Ramadan approaches. President of the Turkish Bakers Federation, said that the price of pita bread was likely to be 10 liras, during Ramadan.

The President of the Turkish Bakers Federation, made some statements on pita prices on NTV broadcast. He shared following during the interview:

Stating that the prices would be clarified next week, he said: “Pita was sold for 6 liras last year, bread was 3 liras. There is a high probability that bread will be 5 liras and pita will be 10 liras this year. An application will be made to the relevant institutions by making the cost calculation. Depending on the provinces, there may be a difference in grams. There is a maximum price difference of 30 percent between bread and pita bread. There will be a maximum difference of 55 percent compared to last year. It should be clear by the beginning of next week.”
