Prof. Dr. Cem Baykal has explained that the materials that are actually disposable in surgeries have been used repeatedly for many years in both public and private hospitals. Emphasizing that the state has been aware of this practice since the very beginning, The professor also noted that the fine of 10 thousand TL which was imposed on those who did not comply with the one-use rule, was also abolished in 2011.

A new claim has been put forward related to the shortage of materials caused by the state’s failure to pay its debt to the medical sector and the recent excessive depreciation of the TL.

The owner of the Claim is Prof. Dr. Cem Baykal. He explained that medical supplies used especially in closed surgeries were actually disposable, that is they should be thrown away after being consumed, but they were used over and over again.

Prof. Dr. Cem Baykal took his claim a little further, adding that this was a practice that had been going on for years in both public and private hospitals and that everyone knew about it but has kept quiet.
