Ankara has recently hosted an important convention again.

Turkish Foreign Minister Davutoğlu attended the convention held by the International Contact Group chaired by Germany’s special envoy for Afghanistan and Pakistan Michael Koch and adressed the representatives of more than 50 countries and international organizations.

Turkish FM said Afghanistan was the first and biggest test of the international community in the 21st century and stressed that there was no chance of failure.

Davutoğlu went on to say if the world could not manage to establish peace in Afghanistan, it would not be possible accomplish peace in the entire continent (Asia).

He also added that the international organizations should use the short time ahead in a most effective way so as to take the future of Afghanistan  under guarantee.

Referring to concerns about what is going to happen after the withdrawal of ISAF from Afghanistan in 2014, the FM said Turkey was ready to continue to extend its support thereafter and promised to provide military training in Afghanistan after 2014, as well.
