Istanbul Airport metro to be opened in November 2022

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil KARAISMAILOGLU announced that the Kağıthane-Istanbul Airport metro would be opened for service in November. The Minister examined Gayrettepe-Istanbul Airport-Halkalı metro construction site. He participated in the test drive between Kagithane-Istanbul Airport and gave information to the press members about the point reached on the metro line at the airport construction site.

The Minister said, “We will finish Kağıthane-Istanbul Airport in November and the 37.5 km Gayrettepe extension within 6 months after that and put the 37,5 kilometer Gayrettepe-Istanbul Airport metro into service.”

SABIHA GÖKÇEN METRO WILL BE OPENED IN SEPTEMBER

The Minister who gave information about other metro lines under construction in Istanbul, said, “We are going to finish our metro Sabiha Gökçen Airport. In September, when we complete the connection from Kadıköy-Kartal-Pendik to Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport and offer service to our citizens, we will have connected the two airports of Istanbul and two of the largest and busiest airports in the world by metro. Our goal is to put Sabiha Gökçen Airport metro into service in September.”
