Istanbul offers solo travelers a unique culinary experience with its globally renowned rich cuisine. In Wizz Air’s guide, street food, kebab shops, and fish sandwich stalls are highlighted as must-try culinary stops for those traveling alone in Istanbul. However, Istanbul is not just about its flavors; it is also an excellent destination for solo travelers with its historical and cultural richness.

In this era of rapidly changing travel habits, many tourists are seeking independent experiences. Taking this trend into consideration, the Hungarian airline lists the most popular destinations for solo travelers and activities in those destinations. The top two spots on this list are occupied by the Greek island of Rhodes and the city of Split in Croatia, with Istanbul coming in third. Additionally, it’s worth noting that 66% of tourists have given Istanbul a full 5-star rating. Istanbul’s restaurants have received a 71% 5-star rating, making it the second-highest-rated destination in this category after Rhodes.
