Istanbul Jazz Festival celebrates its 23rd anniversary in 2016

Screenshot_6Mega town Istanbul is hosting another very important festival, currently; Jazz Festival … The festival is organized by Istanbul Foundation for Art and Culture (IKSV) and sponsored by Garanti Bank, This year the Festival celebrates its 23rd anniversary. More than 200 Turkish and international musicians are participating in the event  between June 27 – July 25.

This year it is reported that  the festival program includes a blend of jazz, funk, world music, blues and rock performances. Among artists Nile Rodgers and his group CHIC, Damon Albarn + The Orchestra of Syrian Musicians + Guests, Kamasi Washington, Laura Mvula, Ernest Ranglin, Hugh Coltman, Joss Stone, Vintage Trouble, and Gregory Porter are supposed to be the most prominent ones.

On the other hand popular spots such as Fenerbahçe Park and others at Moda (Kadıköy) are among places to host live performances. This year audience and visitors will be able to watch jazz concerts (jazz in the parks) at Fenerbahçe Park for free while performances called night-out will take at Moda.

Also for the first time this year the festival features a children’s event and “A Childlike Day” will feature performances and workshops for children.

It is reported that tickets are available through Biletix sales channels,  at İKSV (Nejat Eczacıbaşı Binası Sadi Konuralp Cad. No: 5 Şişhane – Istanbul) (between 10:00 and 18:00, every day except Sundays).
