Joe Biden administration announces additional $ 200 million in defense assistance to be provided to Ukraine
US President Biden has instructed Secretary of State Antony Blinken to provide Ukraine with an additional $200 million in defense assistance under the “Foreign Assistance Act”.
The assistance in question will include equipment and military trainings from the inventory of the US department of defense.
The ‘Foreign Aid Act‘, adopted in USA in1961, authorizes presidents to provide assistance to foreign countries in emergency situations without the approval of congress.
Earlier, the US department of defense had been authorized to provide $ 350 million in military assistance to Ukraine.
