Koç Holding Increases its Q2 Profit by 37 Percent

KOC_HOLDINGLargest Turkish companies seem to have overcome the negative effects of the global crisis that has knocked down the world economy.

Accordingly, companies have started declaring their profits for the second quarter and some results are quite satisfactory considering the obstacles the economy have had to go through, recently.

Among such companies, Koç Holding (Turkey’s largest group) has reported a 37 percent increase in its second quarter net profit to 557.2 million lira ($318 million). The company has declared a net profit of 406.9 million lira in the same period of last year.

Based on the same report group sales have risen 42 percent to 17.47 billion lira.

Koç group operates in various fields such as manufacturing of electronic goods and household items, automotive, energy and finance and owns very popular brands like BEKO, ARÇELİK, OPET, YAPI KREDI BANK etc.

The group which was established by VEHBI KOÇ many years ago, has joint ventures with int’l companies such as FORD, FIAT and PIRELLI and many more and contributes highly to Turkish economy
