Last minute news: Another hike in gasoline and diesel prices

The Energy Oil and Gas Supply Stations Employers’ Union (EPGIS) has announced a hike in gasoline and diesel prices. It was reported that the new hike would be reflected in pump prices.

The mobility of the dollar exchange rate and the rise in oil prices have also triggered fuel price hikes. On the other hand, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT) announced the inflation rate for February, and the annual inflation rate was set at 54.44 percent. The ever-increasing negative yield effect of TL and the expectation that there may be a further rise in inflation continued to be the biggest source of concern for fuel prices.

As fuel prices broke records due to inflation, oil prices and the rise in the dollar, EPGIS announced in a statement, following price hikes: “The price increase in fuel products is effective as of March 5, 2022; gasoline 69 kurus, diesel 84 kurus.”
