Madonna performs in Istanbul after 19 years

For the first time in 19 years, the international mega pop star Madonna will be performing a concert in Istanbul tomorrow.

The Queen of pop music, American performer Madonna arrived to Turkey on Tuesday accompanied by her children to perform in Istanbul for the first time in 19 years. As tonight’s concert marks one of the stops on her world tour, Madonna’s private plane touched down in Istanbul’s Atatürk Airport at 20:20 Tuesday evening. Madonna was greeted with a red carpet at the airport from where she got into a vehicle that took her to the hotel she will be staying in.

Madonna is joined by her children and her nannies during her trip to Istanbul. While in Istanbul, Madonna visited both Hagia Sophia and Sultanahmet Mosque. For tonight’s concert, Madonna supposedly requested a small gym and 250 varieties of flowers in her room backstage. Madonna, who will be earning 4.5 million dollars from tonight’s concert in Istanbul, will be protected by 50 special security officers prior and following the concert. Tickets for the Thursday night show at the Türk Telekom Arena sold out in three days. Fifty-thousand people from 40 different nations will be watching Madonna perform tonight.
