MAYOR OF KEMER BRITISH TOURISTS

Necati Topaloğlu, the Mayor of Kemer said, “In 2022, the number of British tourists visiting Kemer was 75,000, while last year it reached 234,000. This year, we expect 350,000 British tourists.”

Speaking at the March council meeting, Mayor Necati Topaloğlu stated, “In 2022, the number of British tourists visiting Kemer was 75,000, while last year it reached 234,000. We expect 350,000 British tourists this year.”

Mayor Topaloğlu stated that they had accomplished significant tasks during a challenging five-year period, saying, “2019 was good, but then we had two years of pandemic. A war broke out between Russia and Ukraine, which constitute 75% of the guests coming to Kemer. The Manavgat fire and the Kahramanmaraş earthquake affecting 11 provinces followed. Then came the EYT earthquake, which also affected our budget. Despite all difficulties, together with you, we have achieved great things in Kemer. I thank all the council members.”

“WE EXPECT 350,000 BRITISH TOURISTS THIS YEAR”

Mayor Topaloğlu emphasized that tourism is the livelihood of Kemer, stating, “As the Kemer Municipality, we participate in all tourism fairs. In 2022, we made a 40,000 euro agreement with Jet2, one of the largest tour operators in the UK. In 2022, the number of British tourists visiting Kemer was 75,000, while last year it reached 234,000. With the votes of my fellow council members, we have raised the agreement to 60,000 euros this year. We expect 350,000 British tourists this year. It is uncertain when the war between Russia and Ukraine will end. There is no point in sticking to a single market. Currently, three hotels have opened their doors to British tourists as of March 1st. We will promote Kemer in the best possible way by entering every market.”
