Minister says increase in covid-19 cases in 5 provinces imposes great risk for Turkey

Health Minister Fahrettin Koca has announced the latest situation in the fight against the corona virus epidemic in Turkey saying “The increase in Istanbul, Bursa, Kocaeli, Kahramanmaraş and Denizli is a risk for the whole country.”

The Minister went on to share the following:

“When the epidemic is on the rise in one part of the world, it is followed by other regions. I have clearly shared some of my concerns with you and I have stated that we are making more efforts than ever with our health care workers, over 1 million 100 thousand.

We slowed down the spread compared to a month ago. The number of active cases has increased in terms of risk of transmission. The increase in Istanbul, Bursa, Kocaeli, Kahramanmaraş and Denizli is a risk for all of Turkey.

The outbreak can be stopped by preventing new infections. Help us and don’t let the virus infect you. Protect others as well as protect yourself. There are necessary mechanisms against people who do not comply with measures and act irresponsibly, as citizens of this country. Our Interior Ministry is making a great effort to ensure rules of mask and distance are complied with.
