Minister says fines worth over TL 63 million issued in food inspections in first 7 months

Agriculture and Forestry Minister Bekir PAKDEMIRLI has announced that more than TL 63 million  of fines have been issued in food inspections, in the first seven months.

In a written statement, the Minister noted they had increased the number of food inspections to 1.2 million in 2019 from 39,000 in 2002.

According to the statement, in the first seven months of this year, 122 thousand 989 inspections were made at food production sites. On the other hand 311 thousand 616 inspections were made at food sales spots and another 270 thousand 574 inspections were made at consumption spots.
