Minister warns: Temperatures are rising, forest fires are imminent

According to the data announced by the Turkish State Meteorological Service (MGM) today, temperatures in northern and inland regions will increase by 2-4 degrees.

According to the latest assessments of the MGM, temperatures will be 4-10 degrees above seasonal norms nationwide. In some cities, temperatures will exceed 30 degrees Celsius.

Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Mehmet Özhaseki also warned elderly and chronically ill citizens against the increasing temperatures.

Özhaseki also called on the public to be sensitive to forest fires.
