Ministry of Agriculture announces impure, counterfeit products sold on the market

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has shared 386 batch of food products belonging to a total of 229 companies in which counterfeit, or pharmaceutical active ingredients were identified. The list published by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry included many products such as tea, honey, spice, chocolate.

In the announcement it was noted that the ministry executed official control activities with great care at all stages to ensure food safety, adulteration and imitation of foods for protection of consumer interests and health of citizens and prevent unfair competition in the industry.

It was also mentioned in the announcement that the name of the company that produces or sells such food endangering the life and health of the people were shared with the public with a list including details such as the laboratory results, the name of the product, brand name, party or serial number.

The ministry also said, “It is clear that in addition to the inspections carried out by our ministry, the audits carried out by consumers and the applications and complaints sent to Cimer and Alo 174 food line have a large share in the detection of such non-compliance. In this respect, it is of great importance that consumers continue their effort to contribute to our work to protect the health of our citizens”.
