Muhittin Böcek, Mayor of Antalya announces number of Russians living in Antalya

Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Muhittin BÖCEK, who was visited by the Ambassador of the Russian Federation in Ankara, Aleksey Yerhov, and the Consul General of Antalya, Sergey Vetrik, revealed that there are around 200,000 Russians living in the city.

BOCEK pointed out that Antalya is the 10th most visited city in the world. He also mentioned that Antalya had hosted 13 million tourists since the beginning of the year, with a year-end target of 15 million.

Regarding the Russian community in Antalya, Muhittin Böcek stated that there were approximately 200,000 people who spoke Russian in the city, and around 90,000 Russian citizens own properties there. He added, “During my tenure as the Mayor of Konyaaltı, we even established a special council for foreigners in Konyaaltı. We also have significant agricultural exports to Russia.”

Antalya is the major tourism destination in Turkey.
