Natural gas consumption in Turkey saw a significant increase in December of last year

Residential natural gas consumption rose by 35%, reaching 3 billion 71 million 450 thousand cubic meters. Overall natural gas consumption increased by 32% year-on-year, totaling 6 billion 963 million 420 thousand cubic meters.
Natural gas consumption in power plants saw a dramatic 87.85% increase, reaching 1 billion 393 million 500 thousand cubic meters. In the industrial sector, natural gas consumption grew by 4.5%, totaling 1 billion 263 million 610 thousand cubic meters.
Natural gas imports also increased by 21.5% compared to the previous year, reaching 7 billion 364 million 170 thousand cubic meters, with the largest amount imported from Russia.
Turkey’s natural gas stock declined by 9% compared to the previous year, totaling approximately 4 billion 950 million 860 thousand cubic meters. The majority of the stock is stored in underground facilities.
