The European Union which previously accepted tourists with the Moderna, AstraZeneca, Johnson&Johnson and Novavax vaccines, has decided to open doors to those with vaccines approved by the World Health Organization.

A new move has come from the European Union, which is one of the regions most affected by the first wave of the coronavirus epidemic and which has recently seen an increase in the number of cases due to the low vaccination rate in some countries and the spread of the Omicron variant.

Based on news on Turkish media, the European Union which has allowed foreign tourists with Moderna, AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson and Novavax vaccines so far, has decided to allow those with vaccines approved by the World Health Organization, as well. Among newly approved such vaccines are Sinovac which is widely used in Turkey and Sinopharm and Bharat Biotech (of Indian origin).

It was noted that the decision taken had not yet been approved and, if approved, would be effective as of March 1. On the other hand, in addition to this application, it was also noted that countries might require some additional measures and documents. Some countries will be able to request a certificate of a negative PCR test taken 72 hours before the flight time if necessary.
