New Era for Train Travel in Turkey Begins on September 1

Train travel in Turkey is moving fully to digital tickets. From September 1, TCDD Transportation will switch completely to an e ticket system, meaning passengers will be able to access their train tickets digitally instead of receiving paper tickets.

How the New E Ticket System Works

TCDD Transportation said the e ticket system has already been in use for some time and will become fully operational from September 1 as part of its digital document transformation.

After purchasing a train ticket, passengers will receive a Journey Information email. The PDF document attached to the email will contain a link that passengers can click to access their e ticket.

Passengers will therefore be able to keep their tickets digitally and access them whenever they need them.

Less Paper and Easier Access

TCDD Transportation says the new system will make train tickets more digital, secure and accessible.

The move is also intended to reduce paper use, make ticket access easier, improve document security and strengthen the railway system’s digital infrastructure.

For passengers travelling by train in Turkey, the main change is simple. Buy your ticket, open the Journey Information email, click the link in the PDF document and access your e ticket.

The new system will apply fully from September 1.
